Team Emery was established in 2011, when fifth grader Emery Miller, recognized the distress of being in the hospital amidst the joy of the holiday season.
Emery Miller responded by collecting bears to disburden the patients and their families. Ten years later Team Emery has impacted over 57,000 families and 14,000 foster children as efforts expand to fourteen states and various community outreach projects and scholorships.
What started as a ten-year-old hoping to bring a smile to a families face turned into a nationwide impact.
The Team Emery Classic is a baseball tournament for local high school baseball teams to benefit the Forney Family. Jeff Forney, former all-star for Cincinnati Red affiliates, has dedicated his life to others.
Not only did Jeff make an impact on baseball through years of coaching but he also made an impact on the community.

Jeff Forney exemplified the attributes that the Team Emery Classic award represents. His death is a significant loss for his church, neighbors, friends, and his family (as he was the main source of income). He and his family have always been there for the community and freely gave their time and money to help anyone in need with no questions asked. They believe that we all have a moral responsibility to help and love each other.
Join us on September 23rd for the celebration for Jeff Forney. We will have Austin Byler speaking 4:00PM – 5:00PM. After that, the celebration starts at 5:00PM with the Forney family being honored at 7:00PM. This will be a FREE family event that will have activities happening for the whole family.
